"My Small Land"
Sarya is a 17-year-old Kurdish girl living in Saitama. Until recently, she was living an ordinary high school life, just like any other Japanese person her age. But one day, she loses her residency status and her normal life is taken away from her.
Is it a "sin" for her to want to stay in Japan?
"Denis Mukwege: Doctor Fighting in 'The Worst Place in the World to Be a Woman'"
Bukavu, eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, Africa. This place is known as "the worst place in the world for women." For over 20 years, more than 400,000 women have been raped here. This documentary follows the daily struggle of Denis Mukwege, a gynecologist who has treated many of these women free of charge.
"Ushiku"
This documentary captures the reality of Japan's immigration detention centers through the testimonies of people detained at the East Japan Immigration Bureau Center in Ushiku City, Ibaraki Prefecture. It depicts people whose minds and bodies are damaged by long-term communal detention and inhumane treatment, and who lose faith and hope in Japan as a country.
